Thermal insulation of walls by using multiple air gaps separated by aluminum sheets

Thermal insulation in the building walls is an important factor to reduce heat transfer from external environment, thus reducing demand for air conditioning and achieving thermal comfort. In order improve performance of walls, present work aims construct hollow (double) experimentally; which are made several layers separated by thin aluminum sheets, find extent their impact on improving or gain. Tests were conducted a model room sandwich panel with dimensions 2 m length width, 2.4 height (32.5 latitudes) kut city, Iraq, August. A hole was drilled southwest wall following dimensions: (1 long, 0.3 wide). Three models 6 cm gap built this hole; one left (without dividing), second divided into two parts placing sheet 1 mm thick, third wall's three sheets aluminum. The experimental results showed that quantity gain lowered when increased. decrease 11.5 % 21 %, respectively, comparing cavity splitting) layers.
